Wimping out
Eric and I decided to go for a tour up in the park. After two cold days, it had finally warmed up to 10 F at the airport and the winds had died down. So, a gorgeous sunny day, 20F and almost dead calm down low. We decided to go see what the conditions were like on Wimpy's. As you can see, the low elevation terrain really doesn't look very skiable yet, at least without risking equipment damage or worse. Because we had a late start, there wasn't enough time to go up high for laps on the upper part. We settled for a flat-track tour to Phelps Lake overlook, breaking trail as our public service for the day. There isn't any ice on the surface of the lake yet, which surprised me.
